The Athletic Boosters held the second portion of their cake auction here at West Holmes on last night and would like to thank everyone who was here and participated in that event!
This event is split between two evenings in order to accommodate all teams and to give them the opportunity to have their athletes involved. Two nights also allows for enough time to conduct the auction itself. The girls showed off their cakes here on January 6th, which brought in an amazing $5,100.00 for their efforts and included 8 cakes from: cross country, soccer, tennis, volleyball, basketball, softball and track..
Last night, it was the was the boys turn to be front and center and exhibit their creations for the audience during the girls game with Lexington. Team members from boys golf, football, soccer, cross country basketball, wrestling, baseball, track and tennis represented their sports and were proud to show off their designs.
This auction as a whole, was a tremendous success, bringing in $9,200.00 for the booster club’s general fund. The boosters do an amazing job in helping with many expenses throughout the year for ALL of our student athletes and also depend on the support of our wonderful community in order to do that as well!
Of the two nights, girls softball and baseball tied for this year’s bragging rights for the highest selling price, which was $1,000.00 per cake. Cline Brothers Tree Service was the proud buyer of the softball cake and Bill and Bev Wachtel of Nashville will be enjoying the baseball cake, which was produced by the Faithful Little Cupcake.
Thank you to all of our buyers: Melway Paving, Bill & Bev Wachtel (x2), Roger Proper, Zach & Maria Morris, The Pizza Parlor, The Troy Miller Agency (x2), The Goudy Family, Garrett Roach, Rob & Rita Hunter, Cline Brothers Tree Service, Schultz Machine (x2), Mac Oil (x2), HC Sports & Apparel and R & R Appraisal Service.
Even if you didn’t purchase a cake, your continued support of our student athletes is much appreciated! We are lucky to live, work and be part of such a giving community that cares so much about our kids! Thank you West Holmes supporters!
