Knights News · Cake Auction

The West Holmes athletic boosters have announced the dates for their 6th annual cake auction.

The boys teams will sell their cakes during the girls game here on January 10  vs. Ashland.  Teams being represented on that evening will be: Golf, Football, Soccer, Cross Country, Basketball, Wrestling, Baseball, Track and Tennis.

This year, the girls teams will sell their cakes on February 1 at the boys game vs. Mount Vernon.  Cakes for sale that evening will represent:  Basketball, Softball, Tennis, Volleyball, Cross Country, Track, Cheerleading and Soccer.

The schedule of sale is completely random and will be determined by draw.  The first half of cakes will be auctioned between the JV and varsity game and then the remainder of the cakes will be sold at half time of the varsity game.

The concept behind this event is to make each head coach responsible for a cake that represents their sport.  It is also used as a team building opportunity and a way to get their team members involved with the process.  The student-athletes take great pride in their team’s cake and carry them onto the floor while they are being auctioned off.

Last year the cake auction brought in $9,600 the athletic boosters general fund.  Please come out and support our athletic teams for this fundraiser.
