Amy Hughes and Katie Sprang lead the Knights with two event wins. Amy placed first in the Shot Put with a throw of 32′ 08″ and forced the Discus to a distance of 100′ 09″ to win that event for the lady knights. Katie was the first athlete to cross the finish line in the girls 400 meter with a time of 1:02.8. Sprang is also adapting to the Long Jump this year and landed 15′ 5″ to finish in first place. The combo of Jasmine Giaugue and Hannah Rohr seems to be working out well in the 200 meter run. Jasmine run 28.27 seconds for first place while Hannah finished with a time of 29.09 to take silver. Rohr also jumped 15′ 2 1/2″ and place second in the Long Jump. Laney Duff took home first place in the High Jump with a distance of 5′ 00″. Daphne Alexander returns to the line-up this week taking second place in the High Jump clearing 4′ 10″. Finishing in third place were Araceii Kandel in the 400 meter run with a time 1:09.3, and Brenna Myers in the 1600 meter run with a time of 6:11.7.
The Lady Knights Track team will be in action this weekend at Home for the Knights Invitational.
